With all the popularity surrounding high heels, one will be forgiven to think that myths are non-existent. Unfortunately, that is not the case. There are people who worship high heels and there are those who’ve made it their lifelong duty to criticize or paint high heels in bad light. It doesn’t matter whether we are talking about high heels for women, high heels for girls or even high heels for men.
The reality of the matter is that there exist incorrect information and misconceptions regarding high heels. You’ve probably heard a number of them and this particular piece is aimed at debunking the four most common myths perpetuated by individuals who either know nothing about high heels or are simply feigning indifference.
Myth #1: Pregnant women can’t and should not wear heels
You’ve heard it, right? You’ve been told that wearing heels while pregnant is a cardinal sin. It can lead to miscarriage or a difficult pregnancy. Quite frankly, all these is a load of crap perpetuated by individuals who are simply ignorant. Who said pregnant women cannot look good in high heel sandals, high heel ankle boots or even best lifting shoes?
The idea that high heel shoes hurt the developing baby is nothing more than hot air, a fallacy, a misconception! Unless the high heels a pregnant women is wearing makes them clumsy and as such prone to tripping, then we can say high heels could be dangerous to a pregnant woman as tripping and falling can seriously bring problems to the unborn baby and the mother. The idea is to invest in the right high heels that are comfortable to walk in.
Myth #2: Wearing high heels harm your legs
What is the weirdest advice you’ve ever been told regarding wearing high heels? In fact, due to ignorance, some women actually buy into this skewed perception and avoid high heels like a plague. However, the reality of the matter is that the idea that wearing high heels leads to foot problems is not backed by any scientific study. Varicose veins, bigger calves as well as joint diseases are not in any way related to wearing of high heels. Men can therefore spot their best lifting shoes, women spot sandals with high heels without worrying about foot problems!
Myth #3: High heels should only be worn by women
How absurd! If women can wear high heels to improve their height, look good and boost their confidence, what is so wrong in men doing the same? Men too need to feel confident, add an inch or two on their height and there is no better way to do it than mens tall boots or mens high heels. If you are a man who is lacking in height, forget about the naysayers and rock mens tall boots that will give you the confidence to go about your day happy and contented!
Myth #4: High heels make you look stylish and sophisticated as compared to flat shoes
If that were the case, flat shoes would be non-existent. The truth of the matter is that you can rock and look stylish in either high heels or flat shoes. It is the reason women have both in their closet. Don’t believe the garbage, go ahead and rock the kind of shoes that brings out the confidence in you!
